Intergenerational friendship

On 5 March 2020 the Community Ambassadors of Baxter College visited Adams House to meet their residents to give a talk about who they were and what they do. They also wanted to share how people can stay safe online and in the outside community offering tips and advice plus emphasise that not all young people are bad and some do want to help the community and make a difference to people’s lives.

The Community Ambassadors also talked about modern day life and compared it to what life was like for the residents growing up and attending school.  The overall visit was very inspirational and made them think about what they can do in the future and how they can continue to be involved with the residents.

One of Adams House tenants summed them up -“well educated, well spoken and very confident, good fun and students to be proud of.”  The residents really enjoyed the visit and look forward to meeting with them again either at Adams House or at their school if they are organising an event.
