As Community Ambassadors at Wolverley CE Secondary School, we are committed to supporting other students in dealing with important issues that affect young people and have had a busy term so far.
Last half term we were raising awareness of hate crime, through sharing information during tutor time and running a stall in the Hub over a lunchtime, we were able to give out lots of informative leaflets on the prevention of hate crime and freebies to raise awareness.
During Anti-bullying week we visited tutor groups and handed out leaflets and spoke about bullying issues. We encouraged all students to sign our anti-bullying pledge which was available to sign during lunchtimes. These students pledged to not accept bullying and will report any bullying they see. Thank you to all those students who have signed the pledge and are committed to stopping bullying.
In the last few weeks of term we are raising awareness about domestic violence, visiting tutor groups and discussing the issues of domestic violence. We would like all students to make a pledge against domestic abuse on a leaf which will be then be used to create a tree of pledges, these will then be used with pledges from other high schools in Wyre Forest to create a “forest of pledges”. We would like to encourage all staff and students’ to wear white ribbons to show their support against domestic abuse in all its forms.
